Relax? Never!

'Spose it might be time for an update, eh? Well, basically I have been keeping busy. Life is consumed by work, school, and time with friends. January will be a nice break. I cleaned my room, and rearranged, with the help of a few friends. I had meant only to start by moving the closet, but that went so quickly we wound up tackling the whole room. Have I mentioned yet that I have awesome friends?!? Other than that, I have been spending time with family, enjoying new baby cousins, and making bets on the probability of keeping my New Year's resolutions alive in the next month. Hmm. Yikes.

I am missing friends abroad, but I know that they'll be back soon enough, and the experiences are too incredible to miss out on.

Ok, back to cleaning/organizing...

New baby cousin!

I have a new baby cousin!

His name is Samuel Ross, and he was adopted from Korea. He is 4 mo. old, and my aunt and uncle just got back from Korea, so I am immensely impatient to go see him!!!!

And to babysit...

:D

Proud, sorta...

I have now completed two 5K Run/Walks. The first I walked the whole thing, but the second I ran about a mile, which is awesome for me, seeing as I haven't run anything in ages. Literally. I enjoy running, just not on a treadmill, so I think I am going to set a few goals for myself... in my head, because on here means little for me, and I tend to hold myself more responsible for things only I know about. Weird how that works.

Last night I stayed up until after 2, talking with Mana after parting with my Settlers of Catan crew - Tim, Lue, Kyle, and Jake (well, wait, Mana was there, too...). It was good to learn how to play, and I think the game was a success. I'd certainly play again!

Now I'm off to homecoming events galore... and must find my sister, or I'm cash-less fore'er more! :)

Have a fantasticably wondiferable day!

I pity those of you...

Who don't live on my floor so you cannot see how completely fantastically my idea for the diversity dialogue turned out... I will take pictures, don't worry... the paper quilt is awesome!

Oh, and I love open book/open note quizzes! :) HAPPY, HAPPY day!

List-making gone goal crazy

Ever have it happen that you can't sleep because your mind won't turn off? Yeah, me, too. Well, I usually can fall asleep if I just make a list for the next day before bed, but last night I was somehow centered on thinking about what I want. Being a communications major is kind of a joke for me. It is not actually what I want to do at all, but it is serving to get me where I want to be, so I am putting up with it for now. Sometimes the material I'm learning in class applies to me, and sometimes I just want to throw up my hands and say, "Skip this - I don't care about/need/want/whatever this part!"

So anyway, I decided to list my life goals. Here is my starter list (...to be continued, I'm sure):

  • be a teacher
  • graduate from college
  • own my own house
  • be healthy
  • get married
  • have/adopt kids
  • travel
  • get out of debt
  • own a vehicle
  • remain close friends with my siblings
  • become a better letter writer
  • take pictures to record my life
  • be active in helping children who need extra support in schools
  • learn to ballroom dance
  • go stargazing regularly
  • learn sign language well enough to have a conversation
  • never forget cursive writing
  • keep my faith life where I want it to be
  • stop hitting snooze on a daily basis

Okay... obvious the order of this is meaningless! Back to the world of RA, school, and good ol' life now...
